Name: La Pregunta
Address: 1528 Amsterdam Avenue between 135th and 136th st
Website: www.lapregunta.net
Why we love it: La Pregunta feeds the artist inside all of us. Everything about it feels like a true artist escape. The mix matched mosaic tables and the comfortable couches are prime locations for conversation as contemplative or trivial as you chose. There is usually a painter's politically driven collection hanging on the wall and a few musicians or poets adding to the atmosphere. This arts cafe is often the host of various college events to meet up with a few friends and listen to some sweet jams. Have a good sandwich or drink, relax and maybe even get to know the saxophone player and his sweet girlfriend who is into extreme sports and getting tattoos at the neighboring table. Don't forget to try some of their amazing desserts which will have you begging for more.
What we recommend: The Castro- $6 chicken sandwich with avocado and deliciousness, with yucca and sweet potato fries.
Guava Martini's and Sugarcane Mojitos running you about $7 give or take, and the entire dessert selection.
Fun Events: Free dance class on Wednesdays, slightly random live entertainment as well as the occasional speech from our favorite or not so favorite politicians.
