All the beautiful people

Name: The Bar at the Jane Hotel

Address: 113 Jane Street

Website:
www.thejanenyc.com

Why We Love it: This bar is part of the Jane Hotel which rests on the west end of Greenwhich village. Let's start with the Hotel, which was built in the early 20th century and has a very rich history involving the Titanic. It also has been know to serve some very well known clients. Standing outside with a friend we very quickly felt slightly under dressed. we couldn't help but notice all of the beautiful people. The doorman held the door for us and we ended up in a beautiful antique hotel.
Now lets talk bar.IDs checked at the door and I felt like an A-lister, did I simply know the right people to get in? The bar, as antique as the rest of the hotel, was packed with young beautiful people. There also is a ballroom fully decorated with a fireplace, couches, an antique massive disco ball, portraits, two stuffed peacocks and a stuffed ram on the mantle, yes a ram, I know you are speechless. Don't let the amazing decor (not being sarcastic) fool you this place knows how to party. It felt like a group of teens crashing grandpa's den, but replace the teens with beautiful people in their 20's and grandpa's den with a ballroom/loungs. Although the music was usually reminding me of my youth, or songs from my parents generation it was never hard to get your dancing shoes on and occasionally dance or sing like a fool to "Ain't no moutain high enough." A few drinks later and suddenly it is 4.30 and last call... some nights just fly by.

What we recommend: Unfortunately, there isn't a lot to say about what the drinks in hand were or how much they cost. A friend kept handing me whatever he felt like getting. All that can be said is that they were good. The bartenders know how to make the drinks delicious, not too strong but still a slight flavor of the booze. Go wild and try something new. However the last drink I had was a full glass of Patron silver... that was a surprise!

oh did I mention the beautiful people?
